Meet Trefoil! He is one of the sweetest most loving guinea pigs we have had the pleasure of coming across. He is very gentle, calm and affectionate. He is very comfortable being picked up and held. He is wonderful with the young kids at his foster home and enjoys sitting on their lap and watching TV. He enjoys veggie-time and is just an all around great guy. He came to DPR from a local shelter we partner with. He arrived to the shelter extremely emaciated and with urine scalding sores on his hind end. He has seen multiple vets, and he seems to have some nerve damage to his hind end which causes a little bit of stool to back up a bit right at the exit - we use rubber gloves and gently squeeze around it and it pops out - kind of like popping a pimple. He is extremely agreeable and doesn't mind it one bit. We do this once a day, and it keeps things moving along. It only takes a few seconds. We know this will make it difficult for him to find a home, but we hope that someone will give him a chance because he really is the sweetest guy! <3

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim  prior to adoption. 

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
